Lunch with Stephanie Alexander

This sell out event was attended by over 150 local and interstate guests who enjoyed the opportunity to dine with Stephanie Alexander on the lawns at Rymill Coonawarra. Everyone listened attentively as Stephanie spoke about her Kitchen Garden Foundation, her passion for local produce and new autobiography A Cook's Life. Talented chef Simon Bowen from Pipers of Penola prepared a delicious menu inspired by Stephanie's thoughts on our region's produce matched with new release Rymill wines. Stephanie offered a book signing towards the end of the day with many of the guests lining up with their much loved cook books for an autograph. Thank you to all of those who attended and made this an event to remember!

First independent winery in Coonawarra to gain full EntWine membership

Rymill Coonawarra is the very first family owned wine business in Coonawarra to gain full Entwine membership and Freshcare certification. EntWine Australia is the wine industry’s voluntary environmental certification scheme and allows wineries to formalise their practices according to recognised standards. Freshcare is the national on-farm assurance program for the Australian fresh produce industry, of which viticulture and winemaking fall under. It provides a code of practice for the industry which seeks to ensure customers that what they are eating and drinking is safe and that it has been produced with care to the environment.

By achieving this, Rymill Coonawarra’s practices are favourably comparable to other environmentally sustainable wine producing countries. "It is great to be able to certify that what we do at the winery and in the vineyards is environmentally sound. We will proudly adorn the new Rymill Coonawarra website with the EntWine and Freshcare logos" said senior winemaker Sandrine Gimon.
